A man said to a spiritual Teacher, "I want to be your disciple."
"What is it you want from being my disciple?" inquired the Master.
The man replied, "To be spiritually enlightened."

Asked the man, "And when, Master, will I know I am enlightened?"

COMMENTS
There must be God-Within for anyone to aspire to the experience of God-Within. All spiritual aspiration and practice arises from God-Within, even when stimulated by outer circumstances and persons.
This God-Within is Potency we can call the God-Seed. The fruition of the God-Seed is a spiritually-organic process like the natural processes of a seed being nurtured to unfold its innate potential. Indeed, the whole plant is already in-potential in the seed.
The process of spirituality is the act of stimulating the innate God-ing, or God-Seed, inside each of us, and a Love ~ for Love is God-ing, and God-Within ~ that is all in Sacred Communion. The "Within" is related to the absolute Love wherein there is no within or without.
Spiritual aspiration and practice corresponds to God-Within. This means the fruit will be a true reflection outward of the God-Seed. The fruit always corresponds to the aspiration and practice.
The practices of stimulation are among the Means of Grace, which is, absolutely, Means of God-Within, of spiritual Life. This stimulation is nurturing the innate seeds of the God-Life, fully or largely latent in us until receiving the Light of Grace within an intentional and on-going process of evocation.
The sacre Spirit is the One who evokes, while the Word, Christ, Wisdom, ... is the Potency of the God-Seed and its infinite potential manifestations.
